The Wagner Rotary Club was called to order on Wednesday, June 5th by Vice President Bill Frei. Gerrit Juffer introduced his guests, Alease Johannsen and Sidney Juffer, and Ken Cotton introduced his guest Golby Uhlir. The mealtime prayer was sung. There was no membership minute. Francis Doom led the group in song, which was "Smile".

Bryan Slaba took his shot at the Queen of Hearts, but drew a joker, which is worth $10.

Secretary Treasurer Patty Frei noted that there were 0 misses for the Henke team, and 2 misses for the Frei team. The total misses are 11 for the Henke team, and 15 for the Frei team.

Linda Soukup was in charge of the program, but in her absence, Becky Brunsing introduced Laura Wright, Director of Economic Development in Wagner, as the program. Laura is originally from Wagner, the daughter of Mike and Pam Denker. She graduated in 2008 from Wagner, and has an accounting degree. She had been working for Bures & Associates as an accountant, and took this position last month. She is enjoying the challenges of the new job, and she mentioned that her 5 year old thinks she's pretty neat because she "works at the police station" (her office is right next to the police station). Laura talked about the next big event in Wagner, the barbecue and social being held at Wagner Lake on Friday June 7th to host the RASDAK (Ride Across South Dakota) bicyclists. The group of 200 cyclists start in Custer, SD and make their way across the state, staying in Hot Springs, Red Cloud, Martin, Mission, Gregory, Wagner, and end in Yankton. Live music, kayak riding, and a barbecue will be hosted from 3pm until dark.

We adjourned in our usual fashion by singing "America" with the spotlight on our American Flag.

Sergeant of Arms Craig Krsnak issued the following fines:

• Craig fined himself $2 for lively conversation about the Twins this early in the season between Dave Isebrands and Joe Stedronsky

• Jeff Doom: $2 for being "too friendly" while driving

• Bryan Slaba and Jeff Doom - $1 each for sitting next to each other at lunch

• Jamie Soukup $2 for the sun shining for 3 days in a row

• Bill Frei $2 for placing 2nd place in a golf tournament

• Gerrit Juffer $1 for paying his employee "slightly more" than he made during his internship with her grandfather

• Rachel Woods and Becky Brunsing $2 each for immediately asking Jeff committee-related questions when he sat down at their table to eat

• Becky Brunsing offered a happy fine for her parents and family visiting Normandy Beach on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day
