The two slogans “He Profits Most Who Serves his fellows Best” and “Service, not Self”; went through several adjustments until the 1989 Council on Legislation established “Service Above Self” as the principal motto of Rotary, since it best explains the philosophy of unselfish volunteer service.

Secretary/Treasurer Krsnak declared the attendance race for the third quarter to be over with the Jordan Weber team again the loser. This will be the third time the Weber Team has to pay for the other teams steaks! Rotarian Linda Soukup offered to draw up the list for next year’s attendance team to which President Woods happily accepted the offer.
Rotarian Kathe Henke announced that she had recently talked to Betsy Wiltz and Betsy extended an invitation to the club members to come to a luncheon at the Rotary Park Shelter on Saturday, July 15th for a time of remembering former District Governor and Wagner Rotarian Roger Wiltz. There will be a private family service at the Wagner Cemetery and the luncheon will be later in the day. Details will be forthcoming as the time draws near.

District #5610 Governor John Schneider came to the podium with a few details concerning Rotary: The number one issue right now is selling all the tickets for the raffle by the Rotary Foundation; Pets (President Elect Training Session) will be held in April and President Elect Becky Brunsing will be attending; the deadline for Rotary Youth Leadership Camp is fast approaching; and there are three Rotary Exchange students coming. One student has a home so far but there is a need for two more homes to accept students; and there is a Group Study Exchange of seven people that will be needing Host Homes on the 14th of September. Governor Schneider also presented the Wagner Club with a Rotary Foundation Banner and another Banner of Celebration of the Wagner Club having a 100 percent participation per capita for the club members.
Rotarian Craig Krsnak gave a brief summation of the program he had planned for the day. His program had a last-minute interruption and was not able to be present. Krsnak spoke about his grandfather Kenny Ray and his wife Frances and how much he admired them. Craig used to spend many summers in Wagner with his grandparents. His grandfather Ken was a Mason and Craig followed in his footsteps. Craig who is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Armour stated that “there are many misconceptions about the Masons”. The Wagner Lodge disbanded his headquarters which used to be above the old Rivins Grocery Store and the remaining members were absorbed into the Masonic Lodge at Armour, South Dakota. Krsnak’s program was to be given by Larry Hornstra of Armour and plans are being made to have the program again sometime in the hear future.
The Club adjourned with its usual recitation of The Four-Way Test.
