The Wagner Rotary Club met on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 for its regular weekly meeting.

President Woods welcomed everyone.

President Woods offered up thanks, especially for the sunshine and mud that it’s creating.

Rotarian Doom led us in singing Smile (really Rotarian Doom is that the only song you know) Rotarian Cotton presented the Rotary Minute which was a summarization of Rotary Friendship Foreign Exchange where six to eight Rotarian’s organize a multi stop visit with Rotary Clubs in other countries.

Rotarian Jordan Weber, Sergeant at Arms levied the following fines: $2.00 for Rotarian Patti Frei for being on the front page of the Wagner Post.

$2.00 for Rotarian Jerry Weber for being mentioned on the TV program on both Monday and Tuesday. What you don’t have anything better to do than sit around and text into a TV show.

$2.00 for Rotarian Slaba for having the oldest standing house in the original city of Mitchell, built in 1885. However, Rotarian Slaba was given a $1.00 credit for volunteering to be the recorder for the day as Rotarian Bechen was not present.

$2.00 for President Woods for having a dream that she forced Rotarian Linda Soukup to return to Wagner just so she, Rotarian Soukup, could host the program for the day. Now that’s dedication to your club when you dream about it that vividly.

$2.00 for each Rotarians Jamie Soukup and Ken Cotton for some very nice haircuts. However it was mentioned that Rotarian Soukup’s hair cut was really, really short on the top portion of the back of his head, oooorrrr is there something else happening? Huuuummmm, maybe some male pattern b--dings$2.00 for Rotarian Jerry Henke for stating that the nurses at Wagner Community Memorial Hospital are very lovely with fantastic skills. They took extremely great care of him during his recent visit to the ER. All better now!

$2.00 for Rotarian Doom for leading the song Smile while wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirt. It just doesn’t translate, you are wearing a t-shirt with your favorite band and yet the only song you select is Smile, time to open up the song book.

$2.00 for Rotarian Bill Frei for wearing a Harley Davison shirt while there is still snow on the ground. There’s getting ready and then there premature preparedness.

$2.00 for Rotarian Bechen for entering late and thus avoiding her duties as the recorder for the day.

$10.00 Happy Fine for Rotarian Krsnak for winning the Dante Fire Department raffle. However, it was noted that Rotarian Krsnak donated the winnings back to the Dante Fire Department while now paying a happy fine so in the end he lost even though he won, go figure$5.00 Happy Fine for Rotarian Woods who attended an EPIC bridal shower for her sister Kelsey an event she didn’t ever think was going to happen. CONGRATULATIONS former Wagner Rotarian Kelsey Doom!!!!

Rotarian Jordan Weber’s ticket was drawn for the Queen of Heart, he drew the Queen of Spades. AAAWWWHHH to bad!!!

Treasurer/Secretary Craig Krsnak reviewed attendance, the Soukup team has zero misses, while the Weber team has three misses so the current total is five misses for the Soukup team and nine misses for the Weber team. The Queen of Hearts would have been worth $283.

President Woods then moved to the business meeting and election of officers and a new board member. Rotarian Brunsing was elected as President, Rotarian Jordan Weber was elected Vice President and Rotarian Jamie Soukup was elected to the board. Effective July 1, 2023; Past President Slaba will be rotating off the board, President Doom will move to the Past President position. The fifth board member is Rotarian Kathe’ Henke.

President Woods then called on Secretary/Treasurer Rotarian Krsnak to present the midyear financials.

President Woods adorned the meeting leading the club in reciting the Four Way Test.
