Rotarian Craig Krsnak called the weekly Rotary meeting to order on Wednesday, December 28th for our last meeting of the calendar year of 2022. Rotarian Krsnak wore many hats for this meeting. After ringing the Rotary Bell as a stand in for President Rachel Woods, he offered up a prayer for the meeting and the members in place of Rotarian Bill Heermann. There were only thirteen members present for the meeting and one guest, Amya Swett, brought my Rotarian Amanda Bechen.
Rotarian Gerrit Juffer led the members in singing “Auld Lang Syne” which was very appropriate for the end of the year.
There was no Membership Minute, so Krsnak was spared that detail. Next up was Sergeant at Arms Jordan Weber who levied the following fines: $2 to Jamie Soukup ; $10 to himself (Jordan), $3 to Jerry Weber for his singing; $2 to Gerrit Juffer for being gone; $2 to Jamie Soukup for needing a haircut which everyone noticed and $2 to Jerry Weber for announcing that Jamie needed a haircut; $5 to Jeff for helping Jordan with his sewer line and another$2 for talking business on his phone again during the meeting; $1 each to everyone at the only other table for being very quiet; $2 to Rachel and Becky each for missing the end of the year meeting. Happy Fines came from Jeff Doom for $5 for going to see his granddaughter during the coming week and $5 from Jerry Henke for sitting with all the pretty girls at his table.
Our guest Amya drew the lucky ticket out of the bucket which just happened to belong to Kathe Henke. Kathe quickly drew the six Diamonds.
Rotarian Krsnak put on his Secretary/Treasurer hat and announced that Kathe would have had $224.00 to spend if she had found the Queen. The attendance for the second quarter was finalized. Jordan Weber’s Team finally won a quarter with nineteen misses and Jamie Soukup’s Team will be buying the steaks for their team as well as the Weber Team!
Krsnak questioned the football winnings as the winners were the same ones as the previous week: Tammy Hanson sold by Rachel Woods and Jay Fitzgerald sold by Becky Brunsing.
The club received a Thank You Note from Geri McAardagh for the Christmas greetings and present she received from the Rotary Club. Geri does a fantastic job of providing a dessert for the club members every week and has the tables all set up for the members. Thanks a million Geri for your dedication!
Krsnak then put on his Program hat for Becky Brunsing who was called out of town to Potter County for an insurance presentation at Gettysburg, SD. Brunsing had the 2022-year Predictions on her laptop. Every year in January the club members make predictions on the weather, markets, local and national sports, and politics. Every year in December the members watch the predictions they made to see how accurate everyone was. The club will probably be making the 2023 predictions sometime during the month of January 2023.
There is no picture for this week’s proceedings. Rotarian Krsnak suggested I use an early picture in Becky Brunsings life to show that she did not actually “present” the program. After due consideration this recorder declined to do so in fear of getting into trouble.
The meeting adjourned in its usual fashion by reciting the 4-Way Test: Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build Goodwill and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
