The Wagner Rotary Club met on Wednesday, January 26th for its regular weekly meeting. Which was held in an appropriate temperature as the heater had been fixed!!!
President Bryan Slaba welcomed everyone.
There were no guests.
Rotarian Pastor Laurie Kidd offered up thanks.
Rotarian Kidd then led us in It’s a Grand Ole’ Flag, weakly song if you ask me, followed by two verses of On Rotarians sung to the music of On Wisconsin the Lake Andes fight song from years past.
No Rotary minute was presented.
Rotarian Jeff Doom, Sergeant at Arms Pro Temp took the podium. It was noted that Rotarian Doom was able to ascend to the podium without becoming winded unlike Rotarian Weber who tends to labor as it’s such an extreme distance isn’t it Jerry
Fines levied:
$2.00 for Rotarian and President Slaba for singing a cappella’ before Rotarian Kidd was able to start playing. Believe me it should have been more as Rotarian Slaba (me) has no idea how to sing in key!
$5.00 for Rotarian Doom as he forgot it was his week to pick up the meals. Which delayed some Rotarians from eating in a timely matter. It is to be noted that Rotarian Doom did make very good time and was back within 12 minutes of finding out he had forgotten. This eliminated an executive enforced fine of $16 for the 16 Rotarians he held up their meals.
$3.00 for Rotarian Brunsing for having a piece of pie before the meal and for a nice “do” as her hair looked nice.
$2.00 for Rotarian Jamie Soukup for eating his Indian Taco like a piece of pizza, folded in half
$2.00 for Rotarian Jordan Weber for not having socks on. However, Rotarian Weber did demonstrate that he had socks on, they were “anklets”. But then the question was why was Rotarian Doom looking at Rotarian Weber’s ankles? Hum???
$2.00 for Rotarian Bechen for not wearing a coat last week in the 57 degree building and being hot blooded.
$2.00 for Rotarian Rachel (Doom) Woods and Rotarian Jeff Doom as both seemed to be having a gloomy Doomy day
$2.00 for Rotarians Jeff Doom, Jerry Henke for marring up
$4.00 for Rotarian Bill Frei as he married up even more. That one is still a mystery, right Rotarian Patti Frei
$5.00 happy fine for Rotarian Jerry Weber who commented to Rotarian Doom when asking Rotarian Doom to be the Sargent at Arms, for great cattle/calving weather.
$2.00 happy fine for Rotarian Kidd for having someone sit with her this week.
$5.00 happy fine for Rotarian Slaba as this is the last week he will be the recorder as Rotarian Linda Soulek will return next week.
Rotarian Patti Frei’s ticket was drawn for the Queen of Heart. Rotarian Frei drew the four of hearts.
Treasurer/Secretary Craig Krsnak reviewed attendance with the Woods team having one absence and team Brunsing having five. The quarter to date is eight missed for the Woods team and twelve misses for the Brunsing team. The Queen of Hearts grew to $310.
President Slaba then read off the questions and videoed the responses for the 2022 predictions:
Super Bowl Winner?
Stock market over the next year?
Commodities Market over the next year: Cattle, Hogs, Corn, Soy Beans?
Which local teams will make it to state?
Weather predictions?
What will be the political party makeup of the US House of Representatives and US Senate following the mid-term election in November 2022
President Slaba then led the club in ending the meeting with the reciting of the Four Way Test
