The Wagner Rotary Club met on Wednesday, December 15th for its regular weekly meeting with no guests present and Pastor Laurie Kidd offering a prayer for the beautiful sunshiny day. She asked for help for all those who were not present due to illness.
Laurie proceeded to lead the club members in singing “Angels We Have Heard on High” and we tried learning another new song titled “Rotary.”
Rotarian Ken Cotton spoke about Vocational Service for our Rotary Minute. Vocational Service is the Second Avenue of Service. No aspect of Rotary is more closely related to each member than a personal commitment to represent one’s vocation or occupation to fellow Rotarians and to exemplify the characteristics of high ethical standards and the dignity of work. Programs of vocational service are those which seek to improve business relations while improving the quality of trades, industry, commerce, and the professions. Rotarians understand that each person makes a valuable contribution to a better society through daily activities in a business or profession.
Vocational Service is frequently demonstrated by offering young people career guidance, occupational information, and assistance in making vocational choices. Some clubs sponsor high school career conferences. Many recognize the dignity of employment by honoring exemplary service of individuals working in their communities. The 4-Way Test and other ethical and laudable business philosophies are often promoted among young people entering the world of work. Vocational talks and discussion of business issues are also typical vocational service programs at most clubs.
Regardless of the ways that Vocational Service is expressed, it is the banner by which Rotarians “recognize the worthiness of all useful occupations” and demonstrate a commitment to “high ethical standards in all businesses and professions.”

Rachel Woods held the winning number and tried to get close to the Queen of Hearts but wound up with a three of Hearts.
Secretary/Treasurer Craig Krsnak reported that the Queen of Hearts drawing holds $229.00 as of this meeting. The Brunsing Attendance Team has eleven misses, and the Woods team has sixteen. There are only two meetings left in this quarter and this year of 2021.
Football book winners were Brandt Doom sold by Jeff Doom and Margo Soukup sold by Kathe Henke.
The program presenter for the meeting was Rotarian Amanda Bechen. She showed a nineteenminute video titled “Enemies Within the Church.” Trevor Loudon was the narrator on the video. You are encouraged to do a search on Enemies Within the Church.com and view this video. It is part of an entire presentation that is sponsored by The Epoch Times. It addresses the ways in which Marxism has invaded our society through our educational systems, church denominations, and our everyday dealings within our communities. A brief discussion of the video transpired after the viewing and then the meeting was adjourned by reciting our 4-Way Test:
Is it the Truth? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will It build Good Will and better FRIENDSHIPS? Is It Beneficial to all Concerned?
