I believe that rock music is the best music genre. Let me tell you why. There are many different types of rock music. There is alternative rock, classic rock, indie rock and many other types of rock. So if you’re not really into the heavy metal side of rock, then there are many other options of rock music you could listen to. Some interesting facts about rock music is that it grew out of the rhythm of blues and country music. Rock music is related to a number of other genres such as blues and folk. It also has influences from jazz and classical music. The history of rock music dates all the way back to the 1950s. The very first rock’n’roll single was 1951’s “Rocket 88” which was written by Ike Turner, sung by Jackie Brenston, and recorded by Sam Phillips. Sam Phillips later went on to found Sun Records and discover Elvis Presley. A lot of people see rock music as loud and not pleasing to listen to, but not all rock music is loud. The genre is known for energetic performances, catchy melodies, and often insightful lyrics. A lot of people also see rock music as aggressive, and they think that all it is about is displaying explicit language and subject matter that may offend some people. However, not all rock music is like that. There are many rock songs that display inspiring lyrics. Some very inspiring rock lyrics that I like are; “Don’t stop believin’, hold on to that feeling”- Don’t Stop Believin’, Journey, “Dream until your dreams come true”- Dream On, Aerosmith, and “We've got to hold onto what we've got 'cause it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not”- Livin' on a Prayer, Bon Jovi. Besides these lyrics there are also many other inspiring rock lyrics to discover. In conclusion, I believe that rock music is the best music genre. I am not saying that you have to listen to rock music, but I highly recommend it. It is not all of what people say it is. Like I said before, it doesn’t always display explicit language. It can display some very inspiring lyrics that can motivate young minds.
