Rich Schild Memorial Fireworks coordinators Joe Kronaizl and Dean Sternhagen receive a South Dakota St. Joseph First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association District Matching Funds check of $600 from FCSLA Life National Auditor Dennis Povondra for continued support of the Rich Schild Memorial Fireworks display.
The fundraising event was held on Thursday night of Tabor’s Czech Days celebration. The volunteer sales staff selling 50-50 tickets earned $2,200 purchased from the many supportive baseball fans which were watching the baseball game between Lesterville and Tabor at the Leonard Cimpl Baseball Park on June 19, 2025.
The huge fireworks display followed the baseball game in honor of the 20th anniversary of the death of Rich Schild who was killed on December 4, 2005, while serving his country in Baghdad, Iraq. Schild was a member of Charlie Battery 1st Battalion 147th Field Artillery Brigade based out of Yankton, SD.
First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association or FCSLA Life is a Fraternal Life Insurance company which sells Life Insurance and Annuities. The organization is based out of Cleveland, Ohio.
