The Wagner Red Raiders traveled to Winner on April 13th to take on the Winner Warriors, picking up their first win in school history. The girls played through sunshine, wind, rain, and even huddled in the dugout for a 20 minute weather delay.
Wagner got the bats going right away picking up 1 in the inning with Emma Yost’s hard hit RBI and kept adding more to hold on to a 5-2 victory.
A lot of girls added to the mix in this win. Braxton Nedved and Libby Kotab each had two hits. Lydia Yost contributed a nice double. Emma Yost, Sydney Cournoyer, Kayden Zephier, and Rayvn Medricky all had nice base hits as well.
Sydney Cournoyer was the wined ning pitcher for Wagner, striking out four and only walking one. Emma Yost was behind the plate and caught two runners stealing on the night.
The Wager Red Raiders will be playing in the Avon Invitational tournament on Saturday and host Avon on Monday the 17th at 4:30.
