RAVINIA ALL SCHOOL REUNION

Alumni catching up.

After the successful Ravinia All School reunion last year, the committee decided to have a reunion yearly. Well, another evening was enjoyed by 84 alumni and guests, June 25, 2022 at the Ravinia Fire Hall. Firemen Austin Weber, Curtis Soulek and Cole Christoperson hosted the reunion.

The afternoon started with visiting the Ravinia Memorial and social hour at 3:00. We welcomed teachers, Dennis and Joanne Hegg and Shirley Ridgway. Dennis taught in Ravinia from 1963-1965. Jan Ebersdarfer sent a note expressing fond memories cherished for her 3 years of teaching at Ravinia School. "You are ALL special friends,"

Carl Soulek welcomed all attending and led the Pledge of Allegiance and Richard Dvorak read the poem he had written about the school and gave the invocation. Dinner was served at 5:30, consisting of smoked brisket and pork loin prepared by Chef Chad Soulek, a fireman from Freeman. Delicious side dishes were prepared by Wagner Super Foods.

The program continued with the foundation report by Carl Soulek. Jean Barkley presented the classes and pictures were taken by Jan Martin. Jan(Schmidt) Schiferl was the game show host of Name That Tune. The Ravinia Fire department competed against the Ravinia alumni who were the winners 55-45. The former cheerleaders led the group in the school song "On Ravinia."

Alumni and guests were welcomed from Texas, Missouri, Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, Nebraska, and Iowa.

The committee, Jean Barkley, Jan Schmidt Schiferl, Wanda Anderson, Carl and Loretta Soulek would like to thank everyone that made this reunion so special. Special thank you to the graduates after 1967 that attended. See you next year!! "Go Ravinia Bears."
