RAIDERS TRAVEL TO YANKTON FOR FALL FESTIVAL

By
Assistant Coach Lori Kokes

Yankton welcomed the Raiders to their 19th Annual YHS Fall Oral Interpretation Festival on Saturday, October 27. The Raiders were traveling light that day as some of their teammates were participating in the National FFA Conference in Indianapolis or in All State Choir in Rapid City.

Over a dozen schools competed during three rounds at the Yankton meet. The Raiders were not able to bring home any awards that day, but they performed well against the hardy competition. The following students competed:

Duets:

Alicia Applegate and Skyler Kourt “Baaaaagels” 7th place

Paige Anderson and Jessica Kocer “Draft Board” 9th place

Madison Buck and Mackenzie Hollingsworth “Stop Talking” 11th place

Mackenzie Hollingsworth and Katelyn Slattery “Chocolate Dreamery” 16th place

Madison Buck and Katelyn Slattery “Allegory of Cats” 17th place

Non-Original Oratory:

Jessica Kocer “It’s Not Easy, But It Is Worth It” 6th place

Reader’s Theater:

Alicia Applegate, Skyler Kourt, and Corbin Weber: “Christmas Detectors” 8th place
