The Avon Pirates hosted Burke on February 27 and defended their home court with a strong 79-66 victory, improving their season record to 9-11. The Pirates had a balanced scoring attack with five players reaching double figures. Zander Fathke led the way with 20 points, along with 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Al’Shamon Gunter added 18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals, while Dominic Doom contributed 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Cale Cooper finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Grayson Ratzlaff chipped in 10 points, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Benson Ratzlaff added 2 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. The Pirates’ offensive balance and defensive pressure helped secure the 13-point win as they continue to build momentum late in the season.
