The Avon Pirates hosted the Scotland/Menno Trappers on Tuesday,February3,butcame up just short in a hard-fought contest, falling 50-53.

The Pi r ates bat t led throughout the night, keeping the game close from start to finish, but the Trappers were able to hold on in the final moments to secure the narrow win.

Dominic Doom led the Pirates with a strong doubledouble performance,finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Zander Fathke added 13 points and contributed 4 rebounds and a team-high5assists.Al’Shamon Gunter also recorded a doubledouble with 9 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, while adding 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocks.BraylonFathkechipped in 7 points and 1 rebound. Grayson Ratzlaff added 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block, while Cale Cooper finished with 2 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Mason Jolley contributed 3 rebounds and 1 block, and Brenson Ratzlaff added 1 rebound.

With the loss, the Pirates move to 4-10 on the season.
