The Avon Pirates will play Hitchcock-Tulare Thursday as they advance to Quarter Finals with their big win over Faith last week 54-14. The first half found Aziah Meyer scoring 5 touchdowns as he played a great game managing to escape the tackles for the score. The first quarter had Landon Mudder with the first touch down on the night followed by Aziah Mudder adding 2 more touchdowns to the scoreboard with a successful 2-point conversion by Trace Pelton making the score 20-0 going into the second quarter. The second quarter started with the Pirates allowing their opponent to get on the scoreboard with a touchdown. The Pirates did not allow this to stop their momentum as Aziah Meyer had a 50 yard run for a touchdown, 45 yard run for a touchdown and a 17 yard run for a touchdown and Paxton Bierema got in on the action with a 28 yard run for the touchdown. Aziah Meyer and Tyler Tjeerdsma each had a successful 2-point conversion on the quarter. The second half found many starters taking a break to allow their teammates time on the field. Noah Watchorn had a 2 yard run to add the scoreboard to end the 3rd quarter up 54-8. The final quarter the Pirates allowed Faith to put another touchdown on the scoreboard leaving the final score 54-14 as the buzzer sounded. Aziah Meyer led the rushing with 12 attempts, 276 yards and 5 touchdowns. Tyler Tjeerdsma had 111 attempts for 109 yards. Paxton Bierema had 11 attempts for 99 yards and 1 touchdown. Grayson Ratzlaff had 1 attempt for 16 yards. Landon Mudder had 2 attempts for 5 yards and a touchdown. Noah Watchorn had 2 attempts for 5 yards and a touchdown. Trenton Soukup had 2 attempts for 3 yards. On the defense, Terran Talsma caused a Faith fumble and Noah Watchorn had 1 interception.
