PECHOUS PUBLICATIONS WELCOMES NEW MEMBER

Those of the Announcer, Avon Clarion, Lake Andes Wave and Wagner Post subscribers and advertisers who have called the office or stopped by have been greeted by a new face. Gracie Wold of Armour has recently joined the staff at Pechous Publications as a Graphic Designer. Gracie was born and raised in Armour and graduated from Armour High School in 2018. She is the daughter of Ann and Larry Wold.

Gracie attended the University of Sioux Falls, where she graduated with a degree in Multi-Media Production with Concentration in Graphic Design. While attending USF, Gracie was able to work on USF’s Magazine, “The Vessel” as part of her related coursework. That experience has helped Gracie in her position at the paper. As one of the graphic designers in the office, Gracie assists with designing ads, organizing the layout of weekly papers (currently the Lake Andes Wave and Wagner Post) and general office duties that all the current staff take part in.

This is Gracie’s first job since graduating college that has allowed her to employ her graphic design skills. Gracie first began getting her feet wet in the newspaper world at Pechous Publications in the middle of December 2024. What she has enjoyed so far about her job is the routine of how the office works and what has to be accomplished during the different days of the week in order to get the final product together. Getting the feeling of the sense of community that she gets while putting the papers together each week is another aspect that Gracie has really come to enjoy about being a part of the newspaper team.

When asked what inspired her to want to become a graphic artist, Gracie said that she has always been a very creative person and has always been drawn to the digital side of art. She enjoyed learning her skills as it has helped her create her own graphics for her personal social media platforms.

Gracie’s familiarity with the requirements to put together an attractive paper in a timely manner and the collaborative skills that she has gained over the years from working alongside others have really served her well in her position at Pechous Publications. When Gracie is not busy working at the paper, she enjoys singing, crafting and gaming. She also has a Himalayan Cat named Luey. One unique thing about Gracie is that her senior year of high school she was a part of the Tripp Delmont Armour cheer squad that won the Spirit of Six Award at the 2018 Class B Girls Basketball State Tournament.

Welcome to the Pechous Publications team!
