MARK 4:35-41 35)'And the same day, when even was come, he saith unto them( his disciples ) let us pass over unto the other side.

36) And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship, and there were also with him other little ships.

37) And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, and it was now full.

38) And he was in the hinder part of the ship asleep on a pillow: and they awak him, and say unto him, Master carest thou not that we perish?

39) And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, peace be still, and the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40) And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

41) And they feared exceedingly, and said, one to another, whatmannerofman is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?' (KJV) Jesus knew that He was going to be ok because He didn't come to earth to drown but to die on a cross.

His disciples did go to Him-as they didn't know what else to do. Their fear of the storm was overwhelming them. They called on Jesus-expecting Jesus to do something about the situation.

Jesus then caused the wind and storm to settle by simply speaking to the wind storm and by His Word--being God--said peace be still--and it obeyed Calling on Jesus in need is the first lesson given in this scripture.

The second lesson we learn from this scripture is that the believers ( the disciples believed ) when an occsion of a problem comes which we cannot fix ourselves, we turn to Jesus-- the disciples went to Jesus with their problem. Jusus realized their situation-- and out of love for them, and to prove His love and care for them. He answers there prayers.

For the sinner who realizes his sinful life will cause him to lose out on heaven, and begins to fear going to hell, knowing that there is nothing that he can do about it, calls out to Jesus to save his soul. And as the Bible says, Jesus is the only way this soul can be saved.

So this soul calls out for mercy, and repents of his sinful life and trusts Jesus to forgive his sins, finds that faith in Jesus--what He did for him on the cross was sufficient for his salvation. He gets saved.

His faith has brought him to the knowledge of Jesus and His willingness to give Himself for payment of sin's punishment--and just as the disciples felt when the wind stopped and was calm--this persons fear of perishing and rejection have been calmed.

As we can see--all scripture can be used to tell others about salvation.
