2015

The Lake Andes Farmer’s Co-op provided the grain report of the week. Corn was $3.20; beans $9.04; and winter wheat $4.80.

At the Varsity Boys golf meet in Burke, JJ Cooney golfed 81 and placed second. At the Varsity Girls golf meet in Avon Rebecca Lehmann shot 110, placing sixth and Brooke Deurmier golfed a 101 to place seventh.

20 YEARS AGO

2005

Andes Central School celebrated their annual prom with the theme “Passage to Paradise”.

Lauren Krell signed a letter of intent to run track for the University of South Dakota.

Brandi Gau ties 100 Meter Dash school record at the Turner County Relays in Centerville.

April was a busy time for Andes Central Elementary Students as they attended two vocal contests; the Armour Vocal Contest and the Platte Instrumental Contest.

30 YEARS AGO

1995

Taking first place in the Great Plains Conference track meet were Jerrod Rolston in the 300-meter hurdles and Aram Winckler in the 400-meter dash.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presented their performance of “Johnny Appleseed” at the Andes Central High School Gym.

VFW Auxiliary held their Spring Tea where there was a delicious lunch, baked goods, prizes, and a table of white elephant items.

40 YEARS AGO

1985

St. Mark's Knights of Columbus Council 5695, Grand Knight, Tom Cahoy presented a check to Andes Central Special Education teacher, Shirley Kucera.

1945

A free wedding dance was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Larsen at the Community Hall.

Max Becker and Betty Padrnos exchanged vows on May 1.
