PARADE OF LIGHTS IN WAGNER BRINGS COMMUNITY TOGETHER
The Parade of Lights committee is very excited about hosting the 4th Annual Wagner Parade of Lights on December 10th. They are working to make this year’s event bigger and better. The Parade of Lights committee sponsors include Buches, Bouza Construction and Lumberyard, Commercial State Bank, Custom Touch & Sip Homestead Farms. The committee is happy to have the City of Wagner, Wagner Chamber and several local businesses participating with additional activities to make this an even great event for everyone. The parade will kick off at 6pm. Float lineup will be at 5:30pm.
Some additional activities supported by Chamber businesses include Christmas Carolers on Main Street leading up to the parade kickoff and a turkey drawing. Several local businesses will be opening their doors to the public, offering refreshments and shopping activities. There will be the traditional gingerbread cookies at the starting location of the parade.
Several local businesses sponsored a turkey for an event drawing. Our goal is to have enough business sponsors to offer a dozen turkeys. If your business is interested in sponsoring the turkey drawing, please reach out to Wagner Chamber. As you frequent different businesses in the community, you will be able to enter the drawing. Some businesses outside of the Main Street area will also be participating and you will be able to sign up there as well. Stores are encouraged to stay open until at least 7pm and the drawing will follow shortly after. Announcements for the winners will be on social media and winners will be contacted via phone or mail.
The committee encourages all businesses in the area to also participate in the actual parade. Ruth Bouza, parade committee member said, “With the added sponsorship, we are able to expand on the Parade Float prizes. The $25 prize will be awarded in the following four categories, Business, Organization/Individuals, Farm and Youth. We want to encourage our local youth to participate with a sports or class float. There will also be a $100 prize for Best in Show.” So get out your lights and help make the Wagner Parade of Lights a shining star for our local community. See you all soon
