The annual Fish Days celebration was held June 6th – 8th. The theme was “Hunting for A Good Time”. Parade Marshalls were Harold and Anita Miller.
Fish Days Queen was Jacie Braun and runner up was Sydney Myears.

Brandi Gravatt was crowned 2004 Fish Days Queen and Araya Cournoyer was chosen as the 2004 ‘Lil Miss Fishy.

Dave Nincehelser was at his best as the Lakers defeated Parkston 3-2. He struck out seven and gave up eight hits.

Robert Haar was honored on his 79th birthday.
The Lake Andes Radio and T.V. Repair shop opened for business. Harold Carda is the new proprietor and will locate in the building formerly occupied by Maruska Jewelry Store.
Terry Carda hurled a one hitter as Lake Andes defeated Winner 13-0 in a seven-inning contest. Harold Johnson and Rich Assam were the leading hitters.
Sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kunz, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Douglas and Dr. and Mrs. Donald Ellis. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Holden.

The First Lutheran Church congregation held a farewell dinner in honor of Pastor Wigdahl and family.
Steve Johnson was named manager of Pete’s Texaco Station.
A new addition was added to Pete’s Café and 4 ½ upholstered booths and an air conditioning system have been installed.
The Lake Andes Legion team defeated Pickstown 23-9. Tom Brokaw was the catcher for Pickstown.

Clifford Horner and Dorothy Brooks were married.
America was aroused early Tuesday morning by the announcement that the Allied Army and Navy had begun a long-expected invasion of Germany and its armed forces were now entrenched in northern France.
The command is under General Eisenhouer, a Kansas citizen who is considered the world’s greatest strategist and soldier.
At the regular meeting of the City Council, the permanent paving of main street and other city streets were discussed.
To show what promising weather conditions has been on demand for land, an unimproved 160 acres of land five miles north of Lake Andes sold at auction for $6000. Anton Kisely was the purchaser.
90 Years Ago – 1934
Sheriff Coles, his deputy and four federal officers stopped down on moonshine stills in the county and brought in a truck load of boilers, coals, heaters and accessories. At one farm in Moore Township, they found a hundred gallon still, pressure tank and 600 gallons of mash. The famer was taken to Mitchell to explain the situation to the federal officers.
