Mrs. James Jan and daughter Emma, spent last weekend with relatives at Tabor and Yankton.
A daughter was born Armistice Day to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Soulek south of town.
Mr. and Mrs. John Linhart and Fred Kaiser were Yankton visitors on Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Linhart went down to consult her physician in regard to her health which has been poor as of lately.
Edward and Alvin Gleich, August Olson and George and Emil Honomichl visited with the Gleich boys' father at Pukwana Tuesday before going to Kimball where they played for a dance in the evening.

A stork shower was held in the home of Mrs. John Doty Sunday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Neil Brown. There were about 20 guests in attendance.
The Lions Club will sponsor a Christmas lighting contest again this year and will also offer cash prizes again. Last year the contest was very successful. Christmas is approaching rapidly, so you had better get thinking about some new and different ideas for decorating your yard.
Winners in the local declamation contest held at the Ravinia High School were Beryle Johnson in the humor division, and Wilma Hron in the dramatic division. Lois Anderson was awarded second place in the dramatic division.

Duane J. Bouza, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon A. Bouza Sr., received the Army Commendation Medal for his services as a helicopter piloting the rescue of an injured soldier in Italy Dec. 10, 1960.
Warren Eldridge of Lake Andes was elected president of the Charles Mix County 4-H Leaders Assn. for 1962 at their meeting last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Nelsen are the maternal grandparents of a baby son, Randall Bruce, born to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Blevins of Oakdale, CA. Mrs. Nelsen is in Oakdale visiting her daughter, the former Linda Nelsen.
