2015

The Lake Andes Library held a Lego 'Christmas Scene' Contest for students in grades K-12. Students were tasked to write a short Christmas story, then build a Christmas Scene with Lego depicting their story.

Three AC/DC Thunder football players received awards from the GPC Coaches. Tre'zen Doren-All Great Plains League Defensive Line, Leo Hopkins-All Great Plains League Defensive Back and Class 9A-Honorable Mention All State Defensive Back, Hayden Medicine Horn-Honorable Defensive Back.

DWU student, Brooke Deurmier, helped raise money for the Lake Andes Angel Tree.

20 YEARS AGO

2005

Lake Andes and Ravinia Fire Departments responded to the fire at the Women’s Lodge on 4th Avenue in Lake Andes. Ruth Scott of Beresford was inducted into the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association Hall of Fame at a banquet held in Sioux Falls. Scott is the daughter of Judge and Patricia Kern of Lake Andes.

High Game – Women’s League in Bowling: Mary Werkmeister 192; Jeri McAdaragh 167; Rose Leibhan 160. High Game – Men’s League: Larry Hovorka 213; Donald Koupal 209; Sam Sully 202; Richard Soukup 200 and Colin Soukup 200.

Nichole Ann and Christopher Allen were born to Mark and Carol Dvorak.

Bruce Anderson was appointed Magistrate Court Judge.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kelly were the proud parents of a baby boy.

Erv and Sally Palmer were honored at a dinner-dance observance of their silver wedding anniversary.

1975

The Eagle Roost area below Ft. Randall Dam was designated as a Registered Nature Landmark.

Debbra Jo was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Houseman.

1965

The Ravinia High School Juniors earned $94.13 picking corn on shares.
