Debbra Houseman has taken over the position as Finance Officer of the City of Lake Andes.
Students from Armour, Lake Andes, Pickstown and Wagner areas participated in games, music, and various Biblical activities at the Jerusalem marketplace Vacation Bible School at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church.

James Solko, son of Mrs. Agnes Solko, was one of the 300 riders taking part in the Iowa 150 Bike Ride/A Sesquicentennial Expedition.

Joseph James was born to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Matuska. Michael Simmermon had the Grand Champion heifer at Charles Mix County Achievement Days.
Bill Wilson was named manager of the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
Jodi Pipes attended the Hanson and Anderson Basketball Camp of Stars in Madison and Jamie Pipes went to the Bob Winters Basketball Camp in Yankton.

Sondra Kisley and Norman Knickrehm exchanged vows. The Lakers defeated the Platte Ball Club 6-2 on the local diamond. L. Otte got three base hits in the seventh to bring in two more runs for the Lakers and G. Carda brought in Otte on a two base hit.
Karen Sejnoha and Vernon Hoag were married.
