Tribal member Dorothy Kiyukan, recipient of the title “National Indian Educator of the Year” was sworn in by Chairperson Onnen as new Gaming Commissioner.
Justus and April Winter and John and Amanda Stirling both celebrated their wedding anniversaries.
Toni Nasca and Joseph Svatos announced their engagement.

Armour, Corsica, Lake Andes and Ravinia Volunteer Fire Department battled a blaze at Pheasant Acres 11 miles North of Lake Andes. Living quarters and a steel building were destroyed.

David Troyer, pastor of the Lake Andes Wesleyan Chapel, was ordained a minister of the Wesleyan Church.

1975
The VFW Teeners won the Region III Tournament by downing White Lake in two of three games and planned to go on to the State B Tournament.
The Lake Andes Legion baseball team won the American Legion Baseball Tournament and were the reigning League VII champions.
The new area Wide Law Enforcement Center was nearly completed and ready for an official opening according to Sheriff Ruben Huber.
Remodeling of the Post Office started with Wayne Nelsen as Postmaster.

A crowd of nearly 1,800 spectators were on hand to view the stock and modified car races at the Randall Valley Speedway east of Lake Andes.
Jack Welch and Leonard Dvorak caught a thirty-pound Flathead catfish in the Svatos Bay area.

Krell and Herrold opened their new gasoline station ½ mile south of Lake Andes.
Experienced shoe man, George Fredricks, opened the Andes Shoe Repair Shop in the building three doors west of the Mix Theatre.
