Governor Dennis Daugaard presented Shylah Brown Bear of Marty Indian School with her Certificate of Recognition for Academic Excellence.
The Wagner track girls’ medley relay team of Sadie Eitemiller, Rachel Dion, Taylor Eitemiller, and Emily Brunsing, won their event as well as set a new school record in the process. They along with Janae Patterson, who broke the standard in the discus throw, were to compete at the state meet.

Spencer Peters and Trevor Lensing took it upon themselves to clean up the Tennis Court south of the Wagner Community School last week “Just Because.”
The Wee Care Day Care held their annual “Trik-a-Thon”. The Dakota Council of the Arts sponsored the Wagner Boys & Girls Club to host an 8 week/ 10 session long Native American Drum Group for kids ages 9-17 years old.
Raja Rucktaeschel and Dwight Brandt announced their engagement.

Greg Harrell and Howard Bich left from Isabel, SD for a seven-week bike tour. They planned to travel 3700 miles through Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
Stephanie Woods and Roger Cuka announced their engagement.
Grant J. Stedronsky was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cavier and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gau.
Mrs. Hannah Williams was recognized for her 50 years of service with the Order of Eastern Star.
Edna Daily and Helen Andersh were honored upon their retirement from the Wagner School lunch program.
Richard Honke III was a member of the first graduating class of Southern IL. University School of Medicine.

Dick Anderson was in the Sister of Kenny Hospital in Minneapolis, MN where he was being treated for polio.
Dale Meyer was the auctioneer for the sale of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bartunek.

Helen Stastny was honored at a pre-nuptial shower.
There were 30 members of the 1950 graduating class. Mr. George Mokrej arrived safely overseas on the ship Queen Mary.

Word came from Platte that the city will construct a modern, sanitary swimming pool for $8,000. Gladys Dowling and Frank Broz exchanged vows.
