Andes Central held their annual Winter Awards Banquet. The event covered wrestling, basketball both boys and girls and cheerleading. Wrestling awards were presented Most Valuable - Tre’Zen Doren; Most pins – Zach Rucktaeschel; and Fastest Pin – Joe Hart. Girls’ basketball awards were given to Most Valuable Player – Shaylin Stotz; Best Defensive Player – Cybil Chytka; Most Improved – Beulah Black Cloud; and Dakota Invitational Free Throw Champion – Rebecca Lehmann. Boys’ basketball awards were given to Most Valuable Player – Jason Drapeau and JB Bruguier; Best Defensive Player – Jason Drapeau; Hustle Award – Leo Hopkins; Most Improved – Hayden Medicine Horn; All- Conference LMVC – JB Bruguier20 YEARS AGO

Four candidates submitted their petitions to run for the school board election. Incumbents were Tommy Svatos and Merritt Stegmeier. Running against the incumbents were Mary Payer and Madeline Diaz.
Rosemary Lampman, Fort Randall American Legion Auxiliary President, presented a birthday cake celebrating the 86th birthday of the American Legion to Post Commander, Almon Adam.
Air Force Airman Shelby A. Jacobson graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Poetry contest winners were: in third grade – Courtney Heyden; and fifth grade Jenna Kitchenmaster.
The LA Co-op held its annual seed booking day.
