The Eagle wrestlers competed in the District 6 tournament; four wrestlers continued on to regions. The four that moved on to regions were Ian Van Slyke, Arthur Medicine Horn, Bryan Carlson, and Shane Sejnoha.

Diane Grate, a senior at South Dakota School for the Deaf in Sioux Falls, was crowned homecoming queen. Diane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Aase of Lake Andes.
The district six wrestling tournament was held at the Andes Central High School gym. Andes Central came in fourth with five wrestlers placing. Wrestlers included John Rieckman, Bob Hakl, and Dave Gale who all placed fourth; Pat Thaler placed third; and Todd Payer placed second.

The Lake Andes Eagles led the entire game to defeat the Geddes Rams 76-69. Ken Carda led the team with 19 points and Jerry Light followed with 17 points.
