2014 Fish Days Queen, Jacie Braun, and Lil Miss Fishy, Isabella Alcaraz, were in the Labor Day Parade.

Other Labor Day parade entries included Inside Scoop, Ravinia Fire Department, South Central A.B.A.T.E, Fort Randall Casino and Hotel, KDKO 89.5 of Lake Andes, and the Lake Andes Health Care Center.

Landon Ronfeldt participated in Wagner’s pedal tractor pull.

The Mavericks played at the Fort Randall Casino.

Steven and Jill Westendorf were united in marriage.

Patricia Evans and David Ronfeldt announced their engagement.

The Randall RC&D celebrated their 30th anniversary.

50 Years Ago – 1974

Construction continues on the Law Enforcement Center and the Nursing Home.

The Andes Central Eagles exploded for twenty points in the first period of an SESD Conference football game at Springfield rolling over the Trojans 33-6. Jon Cummings, Greg Ketzmann, and Todd Payer led all Eagle tackles with 7, 8 and 9 tackles respectively. Payer led the Eagle rushers with 115 yards in 20 carries, while Doug Kniffen and Doug Edwards picked up 64 and 48 yards each.

60 Years Ago – 1964

Joseph Michael was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dvorak.

Reverend and Mrs. Leslie Lewis were honored on their silver wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Linnell were honored on their silver wedding anniversary.
