Chase and McKenzie Snyder competed at the National Qualifying Track Meet. Chase won the discus event in the boys 12-yearold division with a throw of 90 feet, 11 inches. McKenzie won the shot-put event in the girls eight and under division with a throw of 20 feet 6.5 inches.
A real-life cattle drive was being held near Burke on July 16th and 17th with Chris Cernetisch as the trail boss.
Donavon Yoder hit a home run.
The city-wide rummage sale was scheduled for August 2nd.

“The Gus Stop” held its grand opening. “Molly B’s” pizza, broasted chicken, cold beer, pop, hunting and fishing licenses, ATM machine, money orders, money wires, 24 hour pay at the pump, and video lottery are just some of the things that Gus Stop offers.
Ravinia School closed in 1967, but soon a monument with the names of graduates, underclassmen, teachers, and board members as well as a drawing of the school, will stand where the school once stood to preserve the wonderful memories.

The LA Lady Bandits split a double header with Wagner to keep their record at an even 3-3. Deb Cooney had two triples and a double and Cindy Mengenhauser doubled three times to lead the way for the Bandits in the first game.

Andes Lanes beat Poormans 13-3. Mike Chytka went the distance and struck out nine batters, as the Lanes evened their record 6-6.

Kenneth D. Nelson is installing an all new, modern, push-button cement plant.
The Lake Andes Farmer’s Cooperative Elevator is adding on a 12-foot wide by 68-foot-long addition for more office space.
Max and Marjorie Jeffords have taken over the management of the Circle H Motel.
An F-100 jet airplane crashed about three miles southeast of Lake Andes in a pasture on the Marlen Laska farm. The South Dakota Air National Guard ejected safely.

The Club Café, owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Paulson closed its doors after operating here for more than four years.
