NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS OFFER CLEAN SLATE

Globally, the year 2020 has been one of the hardest years for people. With the arrival of 2021 many people have made new year’s resolutions. According to history.com, resolutions date back 4,000 years ago to the ancient Babylonians who made promises to the gods to prepay their debts and return borrowed objects. Failure to follow through would cause them to “fall out of the gods’ favor.” If people had that strong of motive, they might keep the resolution they make.

In keeping with this time honored tradition, a couple juniors at Avon High School have some of their own resolutions for the 2021 year. Katie Grestchmann said, “When I am upset, I am going to start communicating more with people.” Reece Loewe is going to start lifting more and spending her days being more productive.

Making New Year’s resolutions is one way for people to start a fresh new year...everyone could use a clean slate.
