NEW GOLD STANDARD EXPECTATIONS IMPLEMENTED THIS YEAR FOR STUDENTS

'This year the Avon School District is implementing PBIS. The PBIS team comprised expectations that they felt all students in our school could attain.

The 'Pirate Way' is defined by being Responsible, Respectful, and Engaged.Throughouttheweek, studentscanearnagoldcoinif theyare caught by a teacher following the Pirate Way expectations. At the end of the week, coins are collected in grade level treasure chests outside the principal's office. Coins are counted at the end of each week and a student is drawn from each chest. The more gold coins you've earned throughout the week, the greater the chance you have of being drawn. There is a treasure chest for grades PK-4, 5-8, and 9-12.

These students are recognized by getting their picture on the 'Gold Standard Student of the Week' board. By doing this, we are recognizing some of our amazing students every week, instead of only once a month with our student of the month awards, which we will still do monthly starting this month of September.'
