NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
Libraries across the Nation are celebrating National Library Week April 19 -25. The theme this year is “Find Your Place at the Library.” Unfortunately due to the global pandemic libraries are forced to keep the doors closed to the public. This goes against the grain for us. Having physical space open to serve the community with their needs is what we do. Everyone is anxious to have the doors open as soon as possible.
Remember staff is working. We have some free books and magazines if someone is in need of reading material. Patrons with library cards may also request curbside checkouts. Please call 384-5248 between 9 and 12 or 1 and 5. Library fines are not being charged at this time. All overdue materials can be returned fine free. Patrons are encouraged to use the Eagle book drop on the west side of the building. The multipurpose Eagle is also used to collect American flags that are worn, faded, torn or dirty. All collected flags are respectfully retired in a burning ceremony conducted by the local Boy Scouts.
The Library Board understands the importance of the Library and the benefits we offer to the community. Currently serving on the Board are President Jan Twitero, Vice President Sylvia Beeson, Treasurer Brad Roth, City Council Representative John Tyler, Trustees, Sue Larson, and Fran Podzimek. The Board and Staff regret this disruption of service and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon and getting back to business as usual! Annual book sale items will be available when that time comes.
