Behind every great rodeo is a great Stock Contractor who knows the business of buckin’ horses, buckin’ bulls and timed event cattle. The Burke Stampede is proud to say that we have once again pardnered with one of the best in the business, Chancy Wilson and crew of Muddy Creek ProRodeo. Muddy Creek has been our contractor of choice for many of the 35 years of rodeo in Burke. Chancy recognized that the Stampede had been doing everything professionally except inviting the cowboys and cowgirls of the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and WPRA (Women’s Professional Rodeo Association) to compete on our arena floor. The Burke Stampede took Chancy’s encouragement and advice to heart and hit the dirt running being sanctioned by the PRCA for the first time ever in 2021. It was all we had hoped for and dreamed of and more, now five years later, we are not looking back! Once again, welcome home Chancy Wilson and Muddy Creek ProRodeo to the Legend that is THE BURKE STAMPEDE RODEO!

Muddy Creek ProRodeo is now in their fourth generation of a great bucking horse breeding program and of producing rodeos all over the Midwest. Chancy and Paige Wilson of Scenic, South Dakota were both born into rodeo and the generational plan is coming full circle as they raise their children Paytin, Rankyn, and Kashtyn on the rodeo trail. A trail that has taken their outstanding buckin’ horses to the Wrangler National Finals, Badlands Circuit Finals, NFR open and The Burke Stampede!! They are extremely proud of their equine athletes born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation just a few miles north of Kyle, South Dakota along the White River. Among their legendary National Finals Bucking Horses are Bugsy, Hot Mocha, Pejuta Haka, Black Mamba, Collect Call, Braggin Rights, Disco Inferno and Suga Boom Boom.

They have great bucking horses…..they needed great bulls and they found those in the elite bucking bull program of Andy and Dolores Podio and Circle 9 Cattle Company out of Newcastle, Wyoming. Chancy and Andy partnered up under the Muddy Creek ProRodeo banner in 2019. The Circle 9 Cattle Company and the entire Podio family, now in their 5th generation on their Wyoming cattle ranch, raise some of the rankest bulls known to man on the grasslands of the Powder River Basin. Some of their legendary bulls include National Finals bucking bulls Spy Glass, Black Water, Propaganda, and Freaky Eyes.

Recognizing that he needed to fill every chute with outstanding broncs and bulls, Muddy Creek has asked their friends from Burch Rodeo out of Rozet Wyoming to bring their best to the Stampede as well. Matt Burch and Burch Rodeo Company are legendary in the bucking horse world. Famous broncs from their remuda include the 2008 PRCA Saddle Bronc of the year Blood Brother, and the 2018 Saddle Bronc of the Year Lunatic From Hell. In 2024 Lyin’ Lunatic, Moccasin Fringe and Bunkhouse Mouse made appearances at the NFR. Burch Rodeo also received the 2023 PRCA Remuda of the year award.
