MUDDER COUSIN’S DAY 2021

By

The 36th Mudder Cousin’s Day was held in Sioux Falls at the Ramkota Hotel on July 9th and July 10th. Hostess was Adrienne McKeown. An evening potluck meal was enjoyed followed by honoring Rebecca Severson with a bridal shower. The 40th birthday of Jamie Peterson, 50th birthday of Jacque Liebl, (both in 2020) and 60th pre-birthday of Julie Rothschadl were celebrated. The teens and children enjoyed swimming. Memories of Charlotte (Johnson) Hoverstadt were shared. Arnold Johnson (who would’ve been 100 in November) was remembered as he mentioned to his daughter, Charlotte, that she should get her cousins together in 1985 and Cousin’s Day began! Charlotte’s scrapbooks from past cousin’s days were looked at and hold treasured memories. Saturday the cousins ate lunch at the All Day Café before leaving for their respective homes.

Attending were: Adrienne (Hoverstadt), Maggie, Ryan, and Luke McKeown, Harrisburg; Janice (Mudder) Smidt, Stacy (Smidt) Quam, Lexi Quam, Joyce (Mudder) Borah, Jamie (Borah) Peterson, all of Huron; Jane (Mudder) Gramkow, Olivet; Alicia, Alody, Aylah, and Camdyn Gramkow, Olivet; Julie (Mudder) Rothschadl, Scotland; Brittany, Jett, Brecken, and Jace Rothschadl, Tyndall; Jenna (Rothschadl), Myles, and Nora Miller, Olivet; Jaclyn Rothschadl, Brookings; Paula (Pudwill) Wieting, Milbank; Rebecca (Wieting) Severson, Aberdeen; Joan (Mudder) Doty, Wagner; Jacque (Mudder) Liebl, Menno; and Jeri Lyn (Mudder), Kinsley, Kennasyn, and Kellen Jastram, Sioux Falls. All are either a granddaughter, great grandchild, great granddaughter in law, or great great grandchild of the late Elsie Mudder.

Next year’s hostesses will be Janice Smidt and Stacy Quam.
