Wagner hosted the Burke Cougars for a pair of games on Tuesday, January 17. In the 8th grade game, the Raiders got off to a fast start as they built an 11-0 lead after the first quarter. Burke settled down in the second quarter as the Raiders maintained a 15-6 lead at the half. Both teams traded baskets in the third quarter to keep the margin at 9 going into the fourth. The Raiders stretched the lead back to double digits and wound up winning the game 29-17 improving their record to 3-0 on the season. Leading scorers were Dominic Doom with 8, Leon Fields, Carlos Galindo, Benny Greger, and Trasin Dilts all added 4, Avery Medicine Bear had 3 and Winston Little Moon added 2 to round out the scoring.

In the 7th grade game, both teams got off to slow starts, but the Raiders were able to make a few baskets to gain a 6-0 lead after the first. A back and forth second quarter saw the Raiders hold onto a 12-7 lead at the half. The Raiders picked up their defensive intensity in the second half and outscored Burke 16-7 for a 28-14 victory to even their record at 1-1 on the season. Leading scorers were Cruise Koupal with 9, Brock Cournoyer with 7, Steven Peters and Brannon Bruguier with 4 and Jacob Kotab and Isaiah Marshall each chipped in 2. Both teams are next in action at the Wagner Basketball Boosters Tournament on Saturday, January 21.
