The Avon Pirates hosted Gayville-Volin Friday night where they had the big win 52-22. In the first quarter, Tyler Tjeerdsma had a 31 yard run for the touchdown and a successful 2-point conversion. Aziah Meyer added to the scoreboard with a 4-yard run for the touchdown with another 2-point conversion to make the score 16-0 to end the quarter. The Pirates let the opponent score in the second quarter, but Aziah Meyer had another 36 yard run and 2-point conversion to end the half at 24-8. The third quarter found Aziah Meyer adding to the scoreboard as he brought in a 56 yard touchdown run and 2-point conversion and a 60 yard run. Landon Thury added to the scoreboard with a touch down in the third also. The defense allowed 2 more touchdowns for the opponent to end the quarter 44-22. The fourth quarter found Aziah Meyer again with the 17 yard run and 2-point conversion to end the game 52.22. Leading the offense was Aziah Meyer with 5 touchdowns. Leading on the defense was Tyler Tjeerdsma and Terran Talsma each with 5 tackles on the night. Great job Pirates!!!
