The mayoral election was held for the City of Wagner on April 8 where Alyssa Mathis emerged victorious over Tammy Thornton, securing 83 votes to Thornton’s 66. The election saw a total of 149 votes cast, reflecting a significant turnout for the city.
Mathis will be sworn in at the upcoming May 5 regular city council meeting, and will then begin working collaboratively with council members to achieve the goals set forth during her campaign.
George Langdeaux, will also be added to the council at that meeting. George is filling the seat left vacant by Taylor Mohr.
