MARTY INDIAN SCHOOL COMPETES AT ANNUAL LAKOTA NATION INVITATIONAL

The Marty Indian School Braces competed at the 46th annual Lakota Nation Invitational (LNI) in Rapid City December 12th through the 16th. The Braves competed in boys and girls’ basketball, esports, cheerleading and art.
Artists that received awards at the LNI tournament: Constance Holiday received 1st place in her category and Victoria Gullikson received 2nd place her category.
The Marty Lady Braves bas-ketball team won the He Sapa bracket at the LNI tournament.
Jayla Bruguier earned a place on the All-tournament team.
Cadence Bernie won the He Sapa Most Valuable Player.
The Marty Braves basketball team placed 3rd in the Makosica bracket at the LNI tournament.
Terrell Rave was selected for the All-tournament team.
The Lady Braves cheerleading team won the Sportsmanship award at the LNI tournament.
Gabby Blacksmith was selected to for the All-tournament squad.
Members of each all-tournament team are selected by the participating coaches in their respected areas at the LNI tournament.
Members of the Lady Braves basketball team are Cadence Bernie, Promise Holiday, Rozario Zaphier, Gabby Zephier, DeAndra Garneaux, Genesis Patterson, Talayah Rouse, J’Liyah Leighton, Chantell RoanEagle, Jalese Bruguier, Jayla Bruguier, and Aalayah Rouse. The Lady Braves are coached by head coach, Ryan Holy Eagle, and assistant coach, Tanner Drapeau.
Members of the Braves basketball team include Lance Lasley, Tate Bair, Shilo Stricker, Amaziah Zephier, Tate Elk Soldier, Haepi Elk Soldier, Kysin Cooke, Wakinyaw Eagle, Tyson Cournoyer, Arden Weddell, Terrill Rave, Jordan Zephier, Ben Standing Cloud, Kris Meeter, and Todd LaPlante. The Braves are coached by head coach, Galen Drapeau, and assisted by AJ Drapeau.
Members of the Lady Braves Cheerleading squad are Elsie Metcalf, Nakia Little, Amontae Rahman, Nadia Heth, Gabby Blacksmith, Jordis Song Hawk, Anpao Rouse, and Laila Hare. The ladies are coached by Heather Rouse.
Members of the Braves Esports team are Jerome Rouse, Peter Hare and Isaiah Keeble.
