Mark your calendar. Get your ticket. Prepare for THE event of the season. Bloodwood Masquerade will be taking place on Oct. 28 at Bloodwood Castle (a.k.a. Wagner Armory). The event will include hors d’oeuvres by Choteau Creek Brewing Company, live music by Todd Keiffer, live and silent auctions, as well as the solving of a mystery crime.

Eighteen local residents will play the part of the “invited guests.” These cast members, in addition to members of the audience who choose to play, will be able to follow the clues to see “who done it.” Advance tickets for the event are $30 per individual or $50 per couple. A limited number of VIP tables will also be available. Single tickets the day of the event increase to $40. Doors open for happy hour at 6:00 and the mystery party begins at 7:00.

The event is being hosted by Catch the Wave, Wagner Pool Fundraising and the goal of the evening is to raise enough funds to match a $200,000 gift. Committee is bringing the capital campaign to you in a fresh, new and exiting night out of entertainment.

Over the past five years several articles have been published in the Wagner Post highlighting the need for a new community pool, citing deteriorating plumbing and pump/ filter system and inadequate length to host swim meets as some of the pool’s physical and structural challenges. Not to mention, it is sixty-six years old.

Many of the positive reasons for a new pool include creating a beautiful space where community and visiting patrons can have fun, get in shape, enjoy the outdoors, gather with friends and family, and learn to swim.

However, aside from the physical structure of the pool, a new aquatic center represents a community that cares about its citizens, as well as citizens that care about its community. It makes Wagner inviting and sends the message that Wagner would be a nice place to live, work, recreate and do business. It is an investment in the vitality of our town.
