MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND “SESSIONS BY THE LAKE”
An evening of musical enjoyment and food is set for Thursday, August 25 at the Wagner Lake. This will be an evening to set back and relax and hear some great music all for the price of “Free”. The music begins at 6:00 p.m. at the west shelter area with Uncle Roy and the Boys playing some great music while you also enjoy some great food from the food truck that will be there for your enjoyment and convenience as well. This will be a good evening to not cook and just let someone else provide that part of your day. Around 7:00 p.m. the band will take a short break for a few minutes and the “Catch The Wave” activity will then take place providing you with a chance to win some serious money as part of their fundraising efforts for a new community swimming pool .
This will be the first of two “Free” evening concerts as part of the 605 Unity Teams efforts to focus on the importance of working together to make a stronger and more enjoyable community. The next evening concert will be held after the Labor Day weekend so make plans to attend this first special evening event. To often we hear people say there is nothing to do in our small community. Well this is your chance to do something about that. If the two concerts being planned are well attended the Unity Team will begin looking at ways to help make this happen a little more next year. Several communities in South Dakota are beginning to provide this kind of opportunity for their residents and this could be the start of something special for the Wagner community. Bringing people out for an evening of music and some great food is a great way for people to spend some time doing something that can help bring us all a little closer together. The Unity Team is interested in helping to bring attention to our park at the Wagner Lake in the hopes of encouraging people who travel through the area to take a moment to appreciate the great park we have. The Unity Buffalo efforts are all part of this effort and has the possibility to encouraging some of the area tourists to stop, take a look and give Wagner a second look as they are in our area. It is also a way to help our residents feel good about where they have chosen to live. With so many communities failing to grow or to even maintain what they have it is good to see that “better” is possible when we work together.
