MACY KOUPAL HITS 1000 CAREER POINTS

CONGRATULATIONS TO MACY KOUPAL ON HITTING HER 1000TH CAREER POINT DURING THEIR GAME IN TYNDALL LAST FRIDAY NIGHT WHERE SHE SCORED 21 POINTS.
By
Coach Michael Koupal

In back to back nights the Lady Raiders went from Bon Homme then to take on the Jaguars of Corsica-Stickney last Saturday afternoon. Once again the Raiders would see a junk defense early but would do a great job of attacking the basket and hold a 14-5 lead after one. Scoring would be nearly equal in the second with the Raiders holding a 1210 advantage and then taking a 26-15 lead into the second half. Wagner could crank up it’s defense and blank the Jaguars in the third quarter out scoring them 16-0 in route to a 53-23 score. Macy Koupal would lead all scorers with 26 points, 8 boards, and dish out a team high 6 assists. Ashlyn Koupal would net 15 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Braxton Nedved would finish with 6 points and 7 boards. Hayden Fischer would finish with 3 points and 2 boards. Lydia Yost would add 2 points, 3 boards, dish out 4 assists, and come away with a team high 5 steals. Aniyah Fields would round out the scoring with a point and a board. Wagner would shoot 19-52 for 37% while holding the Jaguars to 8-33 for 24%. “What a tale of two nights. Defensively we did an exceptional job of hedging and switching screens. We got out in some transition opportunities, and we executed so sets in the half court. We were more aggressive today in attacking the basket and finding kick out opportunities to shooters. The offensive rhythm was much better even though we weren’t as efficient from the field shooting today but we controlled the glass again 29-19 coming away with 14 offensive boards.

JV Results

The JV team would be defeated 13-31. Hannah Holzbauer would lead Wagner with 8 points. Rico Fischer and Jazlynn Lhotak would each finish with 2 points. Mateya Bruguier would round out the scoring with 1 point.

C Team Results

The C team was in action for the first time but would come up short and in a great fought battle 29-32. Hannah Holzbauer would lead Wagner with 13 points and Olivia Podzimek would follow that up with 8. Jazlynn Lhotak, Braelyn Scott, and Stephanie Atencio would all end with 2 points.
