This week’s featured Andes Central senior is Mackenzi Johanneson. Mackenzi is the daughter of Doug Johanneson and Rachel Lake. Her siblings include Dennisha, Payton, Kaylee, Wyatt, Reese and Ava. During her high school years, Mackenzi has been involved in volleyball, FFA, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and National Honor Society. Mrs. Wilber is her favorite teacher and Mackenzi’s favorite class is Service Learning. Mackenzi’s advice to underclassmen is “Focus on the future, the past is only holding you back.” The most inspiring person in Mackenzi’s life would be her grandma, Cindy. Her most memorable moment of school was the senior trip. Prom will be what Mackenzi will miss the most about high school. Before Mackenzi graduated in December, she was most excited to start working to earn a living. Ten years from now, Mackenzi sees herself owning a flower shop and helping to make people happier every day. She is most proud of her dad, Doug, for showing her that people can truly change for the better. Mackenzi is currently a florist in Mitchell looking to start her own flower shop.
