July 1911

The Presbyterian Church will hold services in the hall. There will be German in the morning and English in the evening. Sunday School in English at 10:00 a.m.

Ten of the Volunteer Firemen were at the Lead Tournament and enjoyed a tour of the Black Hills sites.

July 1935

Dr. Hollingsworth is leaving on vacation on July 14th. He will be moving to the Jurrens Barber Shop which is being remodeled during his absence.

Mrs. Fred Muller is meeting Jimmie at Vermillion Sat. on his return from a visit to Iowa.

William Nieuwenhuis is the new Avon Oil man and L. Robinson is now working at the Kibble Garage.

Worms are reported in the ash trees in the City Park.

John Engel writes from Washington, DC. that he is enjoying working at the Treasury Dept. very much.

July 1964

Avon Stores will be open Friday nights.

The swimming pool had 190 swimmers on Tuesday and 200 on Wednesday due to the hot humid days.

July 1986

Darlene Tjeerdsma and Kenneth Hauck were married June 26th at the Springfield Reformed Church.

The Mets won their first game on Tuesday beating Scotland 13-6. Ray Johnson and Todd Rauch each had 3 hits.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Weinhart of CA are visiting friends and relatives.
