Avon lost to Armour the second round of Distress Play in Overtime 41-43.
Cliff and Phyllis Hubner and Lawrence and Myra Klock returned from a 2 week vacation to California.
Flower Club met at the Northvue Café for supper. The rest of the evening was spent at the Ann Johnson home.
Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Buchholz returned Lillian home from Mitchell where she had been visiting in the Dennis and Jerry Buchholz homes.
Winners in the Farmer's Coop Elevator drawing were--Gene Konfrst--to box and Joe Kocmich--Cooler.

Miss Betty Lokken not will not return to teach next year. The faculty returning and their salaries are: Prin. Georgeanne Dykstra--$6,050, Virgil Petrik--$5,700, Ken Liveris--$5,450, Lyngstad--$5,400, Ray Linton--$5,250, Eloise Thompson--$$5,100, Darrell Guthmiller--;$4,900, Bessie Muller--$4,400, Leola Hornstra--$3,500, and Rosaline Engel--$3,700.
For the 3rd year, Avon's Debate Squad has taken the Sweepstakes Trophy.

A baby girl arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Voigt on March 6th.
Mr. Rudolph Engel, State Rep., came down with the mumps at Pierre. Twin boys were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Becker. We were sorry to learn that one infant only lived a few hours.
On the Honor Roll in Trumbo are Melvin Koehn, Alice Kibble, Irene Hento, LeRoy Koehn, Laval Vesper, and Leola Hawkey.

The Eureka Hotel will be serving a Sunday Chicken Dinner for 35 cents.
The Clarion Word Contest was won by Mrs. theodore Berndt with 2,805 words. Mrs. C.J. Hardwood was 2nd with 1,345 words and Miss Kathryn Hebner was 3rd with 1,312 words. The Creamery Co. has shipped in a car of saw dust. They are selling what they don't need.
