With the beginning of the 2025-26 school year the library is happy to invite children to the library after school. Reminders that if children do not attend school because of illness the library policy states they cannot visit the library until going back to school. Also those children who have appts during the school day are not able to visit the library until after school hours.

The library is asking all parents/guardians to complete a form with contact information for parents/ guardians. The library closes at 5:00 each day Monday- Saturday, with extended hours to 7:00 on Wednesday. Please be at the library to pick up your child before closing time. Library personnel will try to contact parents/guardians if child is not picked up or if you have not contacted us that your child has other ways of getting safely home. The form will be provided on the library Facebook page.

September is Library Card Sign-up month. Library cards for children who attend Andes Central, even if they live outside the city limits, are available at no charge. Parents/guardians of children who attend Andes Central are also to receive a card at no charge. Staff at Andes Central may also apply for a library card at no charge. Anyone who has a water bill with the City of Lake Andes is eligible to sign up for a free library card. People who are not eligible for a library card may receive a card for a one-time charge of $10.00.
