Part of the Open House celebration at our new location was the sign up for “1000 Books Before Kindergarten “but the library will take sign ups anytime. This may sound like a lot of books but if you read 1 book each day that is 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in 2 years and 1095 books in three years. If you consider that most children don’t start kindergarten until 5 years of age, you have more time than you think to get started.

As an incentive to sign up for this program we are giving away a free book and a reading blanket to each child that is signed up. We do have a photo consent form to sign as we would like to take a picture of the child each time they reach a 100 or 200 or more goal. They also receive another free book after reaching each goal.

How many children can participate in the program? All children in a family who have not started kindergarten. How long does the program take? The program is totally self-paced and will depend on how often you read together. Sign up today!
