Plans are being finalized for a presentation by Starr Chief Eagle on February 10. Starr will be presenting an informative presentation with fun and educational explanations of Lakota Culture, and an opportunity to learn some Hoop Dancing for the Elementary and again for the Middle/High School at Andes Central. Another presentation will be held for parents/ students/community members beginning at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th at the Andes Central school. Funding for these presentations was obtained by the Lake Andes Carnegie Public Library through a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council.

January is Braille Literacy Month. If you or someone you know would need to learn more about “talking books” or reading services for handicapped individuals contact the library and we can connect you with someone at the South Dakota State Library.
