The New Year will be bringing back the Lake Andes Library Book Club. We stopped meeting when the COVID pandemic made it unsafe to meet. Plans right now are to start meeting in January 2022 to discuss the first selection. If you are interested, please contact the library for more information. The Book Club uses book club selections from Libraries across the state of South Dakota, so the only cost is for postage to return the books.

I recently finished reading a Young Adult selection titled “dancing at the Pity Party, a dead mom graphic memoir” by Tyler Feder. This book brings a refreshing honesty and vulnerability to one of the most difficult things a person can face, the death of a beloved parent. The personal journal turned into a graphic novel shares the authors beautiful insights and clever pictures you’ll long remember. I would recommend this book to children (ages 14 and older) and adults who have lost someone special in their lives.
