Happy New Year from the Lake Andes Carnegie Public Library! The staff is hoping to see our friends from years past and would love to meet new people to our community. If you have not been in the library recently come visit and see what is new.
Congratulations to the Andes Central School District on the building addition and renovation. The new and improved library is a great addition to the school. Congratulations to School Librarian Brenda DeHaan on the hard work to consolidate the high school and elementary school libraries into one library. If you have not had a chance to visit the new building put it on your list of things to do.
The South Dakota Humanities Council announced the 2019 One Book South Dakota is Kent Nerburn’s “Neither Wolf Nor Dog: On Forgotten Roads with an Indian Elder”. The SD Humanities Council currently has 800 copies of the books to give away. Visit the Humanities Council Facebook Page toentera drawingto win your own copy. The library currently has one copy ready to be loaned out. Being named the 2019 One Book South Dakota selection initiates the reading of this selection across the state followed by discussions of the selection in communities across the state. The Lake Andes Library would like to form a book club and this book may be on our list. Contact us if you are interested. 487-7524.
