Looking for an activity to do during Fish Days? The South Dakota Humanities Council and the Lake Andes Public Library are holding a One Book South Dakota book discussion at the Community Center on Main Street at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 6th. Admission is free. “The Children’s Blizzard”, by Melanie Benjamin is the book selection and you can borrow a copy of the book from the Library. Jean Patrick, author from Mitchell, SD will lead the discussion. Questions? Call the Library at 487-7524.
Summer Programming for children ages 5-12 will begin on Monday, June 6 and run until July 18. Brochures will be going home with Andes Central students this week, so Parents check their backpacks. Brochures can also be picked up at the Library. All programs are free.
Summer Programming for Teens ages 13-18 will be held on Wednesday after 5:00 pm at the library. We will do projects that include crafts such as making a fleece pillow, “monster” dolls, coding projects, robotics, use an Oculus VR headset just to mention a few.
The Summer Reading Program is a very important part of the Summer Programming at the library. Watch for more information on how to register your children or yourself and receive books to keep upon completing goals of reading throughout the summer.
