The Lake Andes Public Library was notified recently of the library being recognized by Save the Children and First Book during National Library Week by being awarded a $1,000 grant to use to help children in our community.

The funding letter read as follows: On behalf of Save the Children, First Book, and Partners for Education – we want to thank you for all the work you do each and every day to support children and families! As librarians and library workers, you play a critical role within your communities, and we want to ensure your dedication, commitment and desire to serve others doesn’t do unnoticed – this week we all celebrate YOU!

Earth Day is Thursday, April 22nd. The weather should improve so if you are able go out and pick up trash or sticks, to help improve the look of your lawn and yard and the look of our community.
